Clifford Perry Trail
Town of Newmarket
The Clifford Perry Boardwalk is a remarkable 1,020-foot (310-meter) long, 10-foot (3-meter) wide elevated structure, soaring up to 16 feet (4 meters) above the ground. Designed by Fiberwalk, the boardwalk carefully ascends an extreme 50% existing slope at a new 5% maximum grade, ensuring accessibility while preserving the natural environment by avoiding major trees and crossing a stream. To achieve the unique shape of this structure, a total of 18 different panel types were custom-designed for the project, allowing for seamless turns along the route. This innovative design provides stunning elevated views of the surrounding forest and floodplain, establishing the boardwalk as a new destination within the Town of Newmarket. The structure is designed as a multi-use path, serving both pedestrians and cyclists, and includes tall 4’6″ (1.37-meter) railings supported entirely by custom connections built into the Fiberwalk panels. Scheduled to open in early 2025, the boardwalk promises to offer both functionality and a unique nature experience for visitors.
