Indo-Malaya Boardwalk
Toronto Zoo
The Toronto Zoo Tiger Boardwalk project is a landmark addition centered around the zoo’s Sumatran tiger habitats, delivering a captivating and accessible experience for all visitors. Spanning 1,020 feet (310 meters) and reaching heights of up to 20 feet (6 meters), this elevated boardwalk provides breathtaking views into the surrounding forest, creating an immersive journey through the tigers’ expanded environment.
This design replaces an older, shorter boardwalk that previously ran through the same area but was significantly steeper and limited in accessibility. Fiberwalk’s design maximized use of the existing boardwalk corridor, reducing environmental impact and preserving much of the natural landscape.
Custom-designed Fiberwalk Panels, engineered to withstand a range of climates and high foot traffic, allow the boardwalk to wind seamlessly through the forest while maintaining accessible grades. This innovative design not only enhances the zoo experience but also positions the boardwalk as a destination in its own right, offering visitors new perspectives on the landscape and the Sumatran tigers within a dynamic, enriched habitat that prioritizes both visitor engagement and wildlife well-being.
